Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola insisted there was still room for improvement after his side thrashed rivals Manchester United 6-3 on Sunday.

Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scored hat-tricks to cap off a scintillating attacking display from the reigning champions, but Guardiola still felt his team had more to offer in the latter stages.
The victory climbed the reigning champions a point behind league leaders Arsenal in second, while Manchester United stayed rooted in sixth.

After the match, Guardiola told Sky Sports: ‘It was really good. We scored four goals and we could have scored more really.
‘They played better in the second half and the last minutes was flat, but it was a good game and everyone in the stadium was happy.’
After falling 4-0 behind at the break, Manchester United improved in the second-half thanks to a stunner from summer signing Antony and two late goals from substitute Anthony Martial.

Despite the convincing win, Guardiola admitted certain players needed to ‘improve’ ahead of their Champions League clash against Copenhagen on Wednesday.
‘In the first half we were aggressive and had the space, and the quality of players we had up front made the difference.
‘Some players were not good today and have to improve.’
