Chelsea are considering a late swoop for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, according to reports.

Thomas Tuchel is eager to bolster his attacking line ahead of the transfer deadline, after the Blues sold striking pair Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner to former clubs Inter Milan and Red Bull Leipzig.

Chelsea have been pursuing a deal with Barcelona for Gabonese hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, although Manchester United have since entered the race by expressing interest in the forward.

With time running out before the close of the deadline, Tuchel is now keen to lure Zaha to Stamford Bridge, according to the Independent.

Crystal Palace have so far resisted selling their Ivorian star to a Premier League rival, previously placing an £80milllion price tag on the 29-year-old.

However, as Zaha now has less than a year left on his contract, Palace may decide to cash in on the winger now, rather than allow him to depart on a free transfer.

New summer signing Raheem Sterling scored his first two goals for Chelsea on Saturday, as Tuchel’s side beat Leicester to claim their second win of the campaign.

Before Sterling’s brace, Chelsea had scored just two open-play goals in their first three league fixtures of the season against Everton, Tottenham and Leeds.

Zaha, who missed Crystal Palace’s clash with Manchester City this weekend through injury, has already netted three goals this campaign.
