Aaron Ramsey is in talks with Juventus to settle the final year of his contract and allow him to sign for another club for free.

The Wales star is prepared to walk away from the Serie A club, where he earns about £400,000 a week, to ensure he can play regular football with the World Cup just four months away.

If Ramsey and Juve can agree terms, the attacking midfielder, who turns 32 on Boxing Day, would represent an attractive proposition to a number of clubs as they would not have to pay a transfer fee.

Despite his struggles under Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus, Ramsey remains a key player for his country and has produced consistently impressive performances. Along with Gareth Bale, Ramsey is the outfield player boss Rob Page cannot do without out.

Ramsey’s differences with Allegri were made clear last year when the former Arsenal man expressed dissatisfaction with the Juve boss’ training methods last October.

He said: ‘The training philosophy and methods are different in my club from when I’m with Wales.

‘There are a lot of people working for Wales who have a number of years of managing me.

‘So they know how to get the best out of me and allow me to play a lot of games in a row.

‘Because my outputs in games are pretty high, maybe I need a bit more rest and recovery throughout the week rather than maybe being on the grass for a long period of time and carrying more fatigue into games.’
