Enzo Zidane, son of France and Real Madrid legend Zinedine, has signed for Spanish third-tier side Fuenlabrada.

Zidane joins Fuenlabrada on a one year deal to sign for a seventh side since leaving Real Madrid in 2017.

The midfielder’s most recent spell was at French Second Division side Rodez, where he failed to register a goal or assist in 16 matches after arriving as a free agent.

Zidane struggled at Rodez, a side that can boast Zidane senior as one of their investors, and only started four games as he racked up just 444 minutes – six minutes shy of five full games.

In joining Fuenlabrada Zidane has now played for five Spanish sides since departing the most successful side in Champions League history, and played for Los Blancos just once in the Copa del Rey.

His most successful spell since leaving Real Madrid Castilla was a loan stint at Majadahonda in the 2018-19 season.

Playing in the Spanish Segunda Division he managed to register an assist, playing 33 games, as well as featuring in the Copa del Rey, before returning to Swiss team Lausanne-Sport at the end of the season.

Enzo is one of four footballing sons of the French great, with brothers Theo and Elyaz still on the books at Real’s Castilla and U17 sides respectively.

Goalkeeper Luca Zidane is a free agent having left LaLiga side Rayo Vallecano in July 2022 after two seasons with the club.
