The striker sustained a shoulder injury after scoring in the 4 – 4 draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin on Friday.
The striker was examined on Saturday and the results confirmed the right shoulder has a problem, which ruled him out of the match.
He will return to Naples in the next few hours where medical staff will do other tests to see if he recover quickly for the match against table-toppers Milan next weekend.
