Conor Gallagher, a Chelsea midfielder, has been a standout performer for Crystal Palace this season. Gallagher has made an impression on loan at Palace, where he has been their key man in midfield.
The FA has concluded that Gallagher is ineligible to play against his parent club, Chelsea, in the FA Cup semi-final next month.

Arsenal veteran Ian Wright has spoken out against the decision, believing that the Chelsea loanee should be allowed to continue playing for his present club.
“Yes, he’s your player if you’ve let a guy go from the start of the season,” Wright stated on his podcast Wrighty’s House. For Conor Gallagher to go to Palace and bring them down to the levels. He’s a big part of why they’re doing what they’re doing.”
“He’s helped them reach a Wembley semi-final, which is what we all want for as professionals, but he can’t play because his parent club is there. Something about that doesn’t feel right. “If I were in his shoes, I’d be crushed.”
