Spanish news papers have praised Real Madrid for beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 in their Champions League tie at the Bernabeu on Wednesday evening.

Los Blancos looked set for an early exit from the competition after Kylian Mbappe’s first-half goal gave PSG a 2-0 aggregate lead. However, Karim Benzema scored a stunning hat-trick to secure Real Madrid’s victory.
As a result, Carlo Ancelotti’s have progressed through to the quarter-final of the European competition – with their next opponent being drawn on Friday March 18 at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon.

AS published a photo of goal scorer Benzema with the headline: ‘Madrid in another world’ as they referred to the sensational result on Wednesday evening.
The Spanish outlet went on to say that Paris Saint-Germain had ‘melted’ in the second half despite Mbappe’s ‘great’ opening goal.
Marca also praised Ancelotti’s side for their performance against PSG. They also shared a photo of Benzema with the caption: ‘This is Madrid!!!’.

They said the 34-year-old’s hat-trick against the Ligue 1 giants ‘culminated an unforgettable night’ at the Bernabeu.
The praise of Real Madrid came after Benzema turned the game on its head with a phenomenal 17-minute spell that saw him score three goals.
The Frenchman levelled the score after 61 minutes of action by capitalising on a howler from PSG keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Benzema then went on to cause the Ligue 1 giants more problems by levelling the aggregate score line.

It was Luka Modric who broke through the lines and linked up with Vinicius to initiate the attack. The Brazilian international then found Benzema who smashed home.

Benzema added to his goal tally just two minutes later after PSG gave the ball away from kick-off.
Paris Saint-Germain Marquinhos accidently passed the ball straight into the path of Benzema, who tucked it away.
It was a horrific collapse from Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and Real Madrid fans were sent into rapture thanks to the brilliant performance of Benzema.
