SunSport can reveal the extraordinary lengths the on-loan Juventus star has gone to in a bid to recover from a calf injury.

That’s seen him fly his own trusted physios over to Scotland from various parts of the world to give him specialist treatment.

Ramsey has picked up the tab with Gers having full knowledge of the one-to-one sessions.

The Ibrox club pulled off a major coup when they landed the Juve ace on loan until the end of the season.

It’s understood they struck a deal to pay just £25,000 of his £400,000-a-week wages with the Italian giants covering the rest.

But Ramsey, 31, picked up a knock in Gers’ Europa League first-leg clash with Borussia Dortmund after going on as a late sub.

Since then, Rangers physios have been urging him to be cautious and patient with his recovery

But the former Arsenal star is desperate to make an impact in the club’s title defence.

And he’s so determined to get back playing he’s called upon specialist physios he’s worked with previously and flown them to Scotland.

Ramsey has missed the last four games for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side.

But following the intensive treatment he is now nearing full fitness, having worked around the clock on his rehab.

Barring any setbacks he could be back in contention within a week — if not sooner.

Gers play Aberdeen at Ibrox on Saturday, with a decision set to be made on Friday whether Ramsey could be in the squad.

Van Bronckhorst spoke earlier this week, revealing the Welsh star was edging close to a return.

The Ibrox boss said: “I don’t have a clear timeline. Hopefully he can join the team very soon.

“Aaron is already working on the pitch again.”
