Borussia Dortmund could look to end Timo Werner’s nightmare stay at Chelsea and bring him back to the Bundesliga.

The 25-year-old has not lived up to expectation since he joined the Blues for £45m from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2020.
After scoring a massive 95 goals in 159 appearances for his former side, he has scored just 18 in 75 at the Blues – with just six goals this season.

Sky Germany have reported that Dortmund are thinking about bringing Werner back to Germany this summer.
Despite his struggles, Chelsea are happy with the German international and don’t want to force a transfer.
However, it’s said that they are ‘ready to talk’ if the right bid comes in for him.
One issue for Dortmund would be from a financial aspect with Werner earning more at Chelsea than any player from the Bundesliga side.

He earns around £13.3m-a-year, while Dortmund’s captain Marco Reus, earns just over £10m.
Dortmund are also hoping to sign RB Salzburg goal machine Karim Adeyemi.
The 20-year-old has scored 18 goals in 30 appearances this season and RB Salzburg would be looking for a fee of around £33m.

Dortmund though don’t want to pay more than £25m plus bonuses for the German prospect.
Their search for a striker could be down to the future of Erling Haaland, who is widely expected to leave the club this summer.

Some of Europe’s top clubs including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City have all been linked with the Norwegian international.
