Tottenham are sweating on the fitness of new boy Rodrigo Bentancur after he suffered an injury during the loss to Burnley.

The Uruguayan midfielder was brought off at half time due a leg injury after being on the receiving end of a lovely faint by Josh Brownhill.

Bentancur could now miss some crucial games in Tottenham’s chase of a Champions League spot.

According to the Evening Standard, the 24-year-old is expected to miss the clash against Leeds this weekend and could be sidelined for three weeks.

This could potentially see Bentancur miss crucial games against Everton, Manchester United, Brighton and West Ham.

It’ll come as a blow to Antonio Conte, who has been without Oliver Skipp since the loss to Chelsea prior to the winter break.

Bentancur joined Tottenham from Juventus for £22.5million in January and has since been a regular in Conte’s XI, starting in three successive games.

Four losses in their last five Premier League games has seen Conte’s side drop to eighth in the Premier League but they’ll be hoping to turn their fortunes around when they travel to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
