The Barcelona youth team player, who recently obtained Spanish nationality, is now available for selection for Luis Enrique.

Promising Barcelona star Ez Abde has sent a letter to the Moroccan Football Federation to inform that he will not be available for a call-up with the national team as his desire is to represent Spain.

According to EFE, via Barcelona sources, in the letter, Abde explained his decision not to join up with the Morocco squad for the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations, which takes place from 9 January to 6 February, so that he will be eligible to play for Spain at full international level.

The 20-year-old, who was born in Morocco but recently obtained Spanish nationality has effectively formerly turned down an offer to play for the national team of his homeland, with whom he had yet to make his debut.
Ez Abde’s decision benefits Barcelona, who would have been without the left winger for the start of the New Year – a player who has become a first choice in Xavi Hernández’s starting XI.
