France great Luis Fernandez has taken aim at Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte.
Laporte has turned his back on France to commit to Spain as he prepares for the summer’s Euros with La Roja.

Fernandez told Bein Sport: “I didn’t like what he had the opportunity to do. I had been offered it and I refused. When you take a nationality, when you are in a country and you start to work… There is disappointment, expectation, perhaps the feeling of being abandoned by Didier Deschamps and by the French squad. And also the disappointment of not having been able to catch up with the competition with Lenglet and Kimpembe.
“Are you afraid of it? But no, you’re playing for City! You could have had this character, this personality to say to yourself: ‘Lenglet and Kimpembe, I can be better than them’.”
