Diogo Dalot believes he’s stating the obvious by praising Casemiro and thinks the midfielder will continue to be a massive help for Manchester United this season.

After months of chasing Frenkie de Jong, United finally gave up the ghost and turned their attention to a much-needed defensive midfielder in the aftermath of the humiliating 4-0 defeat to Brentford. Shortly afterwards Casemiro arrived in a £60million move from Real Madrid.
Though there was some scepticism about paying such a vast sum for a 30-year-old, the Brazilian has already gone about proving his value with a string of stellar displays. Though he endured a slow start as he grew accustomed to life in Manchester, Casemiro is now one of Erik ten Hag’s most important players and United have only conceded once from open play in his last eight starts.
Dalot is understandably full of praise for his teammate. He told Sky Sports: “Obviously, I don’t think you need to present Casemiro to the world.
“He’s a world-class player, world-class midfielder. It’s not by occasion that he won the trophies that he won in his career and we’re so happy to have him here and it’s been a great add to the squad. I’m sure that it will help us a lot this season.”
Dalot has also earned plaudits for his defensive displays recently and he has discussed how United are trying to become as hard to score against as possible. “If we don’t concede goals we’re closer to winning a football match,” the Portuguese added.
“We want to give the best confidence we can to our forwards, to our midfielders so they are okay to do their job up front and we’re going to do ours at the back. But as a team, I think we are getting solider and solider [sic] and I think you can see the progress we are making and that’s the aim for us: to be a team that it’s hard to score a goal against.”
